Gugulethu Sofia Mbatha better known by her stage and screen names Gugu Mbatha Raw. She became popular after appearing in the BBC television series of science fiction called Doctor Who. When she was 19 Handler made the move from the city of Los Angeles, California to explore a career in acting. Handler started acting to earn cash. Handler's storytelling ability was discovered at the age of 21. Handler then decided to make a full-time commitment in stand-up comedy. Handler began her career in her role on the Oxygen Network's Girls Behaving Badly which was a reality program with the use of a hidden camera/practical joke. The series ran between 2002 and 2005. The host appeared on various shows, such as Weekends at D.L. The Bernie Mac Show The Practice and My Wife and Kids. Handler began working on The Tonight Show as a correspondent. Handler made her breakthrough in 2006 when she became the host of E! This show was named The Chelsea Handler. The show lasted 2 seasons. Handler was a part of the Comedy Central's Hour Stand-Up Comedy Tour the next season in the United States. VH1, Comedy Central Premium Blend (and HBO) have been able to broadcast live stand-up shows.
